Roberto Gudino: Faculty, Head of Production, and Assistant Chair
I have taught a variety of film production courses at Scottsdale Community College for over 6 years. I am a first-generation college graduate and had the great fortune of attending one of the top film schools in the country, UCLA, earning a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production and later a Master of Science in Mass Communication from Florida International University. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production from the University of Arizona and I am a proud graduate of Cochise Community College in Douglas, Arizona my hometown.
Two Emmy® Award winning students from FMT217 Advanced Cinematography
Joseph Lara and Jared Cuellar won for their short film "Sector 14" – a science fiction story with outstanding visual effects and stunning cinematography. Their film took home the award in the “College Fiction Short Form Category”.
Their film was shot and produced in FMT217 Advanced Cinematography in Spring 2022 as an in-class project. Advanced Cinematography is one of the final courses students take in the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Motion Picture, Television, and New Media Production degree and Certificate of Completion (CCL) and in Motion Picture Production.
